AC6: How to Get the Moonlight Sword in Armored Core 6

I hope you like wheel skeletons.

FromSoftware has a few “usual suspect” weapons in nearly all their games – the Moonlight Greatsword being the most iconic of which. From Kings Field to Bloodborne and, yes, even Armored Core, it makes its seafoam-green appearance. Let’s find out how to get the Moonlight Sword in Armored Core 6.

Where to Find the Moonlight Sword in Armored Core 6

You can find the Moonlight Sword in the seventh mission of Chapter 4: Reach the Coral Convergence. Players will be descending into an underground city. After defeating two Arquebus ACs, you’ll make your way to an overlook that peers down onto a bridge, pictured below:

Below the bridge and in the swamp (yeah, the swamp) are what are essentially wheel skeletons from Dark Souls. These have several Combat Logs, so they’re worth taking out for completion.

Location of the Moonlight Sword in Armored Core 6

The Moonlight Sword is in a parts container below where the bridge meets the cliff, to the left. You can open up the container and grab the sword, but before you do, dispatch the grinder wheels (there are four or so guarding the chest) by using high-impact weapons and attacking when they’re down. Stay airborne to avoid getting rammed from the side while using mobility to dodge their vertical rocket barrages.

Once you’ve killed them, you’ll just need to finish the stage and beat the hardest boss in the game. And then the Moonlight Sword is yours! This melee weapon has excellent range thanks to its ability to launch waves of energy at foes, at the cost of some Direct Hit damage. It’s great for whittling down mid-range enemies’ ACS and staggering them—just be sure you’re in a good position so you don’t get punished while swinging.

Redshift Moonlight Sword

In addition to the green Moonlight Greatsword in AC6, you can also find an alternate red version of the the Light Wave Blade. This red Moonlight sword is a Coral Oscillator codenamed IA-C01W7: ML-Redshift, and you’ll find it in New Game++. Once you’ve beaten the game twice on the same save file, you can find the Redshift Moonlight sword in the Analysis Arena. Win the fight against the D3: Classified Subject rival, and you’ll receive the sword as a reward.

The Redshift sword is very similar to the standard Moonlight blade, except it trades charge attack power for increased standard attack power and impact. If you love the idea of the Moonlight Greatsword but don’t love charging, the Redshift will be your new best friend.

Part caches are a sneaky way to get free new parts and can be easy to miss. If you’re interested in Armored Core 6’s numerous weapons, check our guide to every weapon in AC6.
