If you spent several hours playing Baldur’s Gate 3 during its opening weekend, you aren’t the only one. With how many people played it and how many hours you can sink into the campaign, it’s no surprise that it’d clock in a ton of playtime. Whether or not anyone anticipated Baldur’s Gate 3 players to surpass 10 million hours played is a different story.
Larian Studios Shares Impressive Baldur’s Gate 3 Stats Including Over 10 Million Hours Played
According to a recent post from the official Baldur’s Gate 3 Twitter page, fans of the game have collectively played over 10 million hours, or 1225 years during its opening weekend. We all spent much of this time in character creation, and many swiftly finished the game.
We also spent a lot of time petting Scratch. More specifically, enough time to pet him 750,000 times. At least he got plenty of love from the community!

Some other exciting stats the post covers include most players making custom characters, 10 percent of people spending over an hour in the character creator menu, and Astarion rejecting over 100,000 people. He has specific tastes, and I’m not here to judge.
These numbers will only continue to rise as more people hop on board and try out BG3’s campaign this weekend. If you want to dive deep into the statistics and participate in its conversations, you can also check out the official Steam Community post that expands on these numbers. The post also mentions its first big patch, “Patch 1”, for now, coming soon to the game.
