How to Fix Gauntlet of Shar Traversal Gem Bug in Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3)
There are several methods you can use to fix the Traversal Gem bug in BG3:
- Walk away from the platform before returning and interacting with the gem.
- Long rest at the elevator before returning and interacting with the gem.
- Drop your Umbral Gems on the floor and have one party member pick them all up.
- Reload your last save and interact with the gems.

Before attempting any of these, check to make sure you have collected all four Umbral Gems, with one of the gems inserted into the nearby pedestal. Ensure you also click the Traversal Gem on the platform’s right side.
You’ll know the bug is fixed when hovering over the right gem shows the “Traversal Gem” text with the option to click on it. Doing this sends the elevator to the bottom level, where you can put your remaining three Umbral Gems to good use and get one step closer to obtaining Shar’s Spear of Evening.
