The Box... You opened it... I'm no longer available to play?

If you’ve recently logged into Dead by Daylight, ready to jump into another match as your favorite Hellraiser character but found him MIA, you may be wondering where he went. Why Can’t I Play As The Cenobite In Dead By Daylight?

It seems that the Cenobite going missing is part of the plan, due to the 7.1.0 Patch introducing a Game-Breaking bug that can infect those that love this particular ghoulish creature. While plenty of characters received buffs and patches, I don’t think the ability to fully crash the game for those playing was meant to be one of them.

Rather than subject players to constant crashes, it seems the team at Behaviour has just straight-up disabled the ability to play as or against him for the time being. While there is currently no ETA as to when he will return to the Fog, it’s a great opportunity to try out other killers while you wait.

When it comes to deploying hotfixes and updates, however, the team at Behaviour is known to get down to business rather quickly.

As the team works hard on fixing this issue, we’ll keep readers updated regarding posts from the development team as to when a fix should be expected. Until that time arrives, however, feel free to study up on all the Status Effects currently available in Dead by Daylight, and check out our section below to learn more about this terrifying multiplayer slasher.
