Ark: Survival Ascended is a full-on remake of Ark Survival Evolved and was due out next month. However, the team at Studio Wildcard announced via their community blog that the controversial Remake of Ark would be delayed to October of 2023. You can read the official announcement from the team below.
Controversial Remake Ark Survival Ascended & Expansion Delayed, Price Lowered
“After much deliberation, we’ve decided to delay the launch of ARK: Survival Ascended to later this year and ship the title on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC in October 2023.”
The team cites that they found it “challenging working with Unreal Engine 5.2” and that while working on Ark: Survival Ascended, they were “discovering new ways each day to push the technology to the next level.”
This new delay also means that Studio Wildcard is separating the release date of Scorched Earth expansion for Survival Ascended. So the plan is to launch Scorched Earth in December, and then Ragnarok and Aberration will follow in Q1 in 2024. The game will also now launch into Early Access as opposed to a full 1.0 release.

In The community blog, the team at Studio Wildcard also announced that the price point for Ark: Survival Ascended will be lowered to $44.99 with a launch discount of $39.99.
Ark: Survival Ascended has had quite the tumultuous road to release, with the team going back on the promise of the game being free, the delay, and the separation of The Scorched Earth expansion.
The official Ark: Survival Evolved servers will now shut down on September 30, 2023.
It’s clear that Ark: Survival Ascended is continually running into problems around every turn, and now we will wait and see how the new date of October has helped the team create (hopefully) a better platform for everyone to enjoy a newly polished Ark game.
