How to Beat Rule 5 in The Password Game

When I first played The Password Game, I got stuck on rule 5 for hours. I’m not joking. For some reason, I could not wrap my head around how to get these digits to add up correctly, no matter what I added, rearranged, or subtracted. It was a nightmare, but at long last, I finally figured it out. With my feelings of triumph at their peak, I’m happy to share my experiences with you and give some ideas for beating this rule. How to Have Digits That Add Up to 25 in The Password Game

To beat this rule, you’ll have to type in single digits that, when added together, equal 25. “Single” is the important word here since the password won’t acknowledge double digits as what they are.

To put this into perspective, typing in “1015” won’t translate to “10+15”, but rather, “1+0+1+5”. This was my first mistake when I played this, making it worthwhile to use large numbers instead. My go-to combination now is “997”.

Why 997, though? As you progress through the game, you’ll have to add more numbers you cannot change, influencing this rule. Once that happens, you can subtract those numbers from 997, balancing the difference. For example, if you add the numbers 3 and 5, you can take 8 from 9, turning it into 197 or 917. I found myself doing this constantly; knowing how wacky this game gets, you’ll likely have to do the same.
