Losing items in the Call of Duty: DMZ is one of the most frustrating aspects of the mode, and most of the time, it’s an unavoidable part of the game. However, the Secured Backpack brings at least one way for Operators to hold onto their mission items, even after an unfortunate death.
Unlike the standard backpacks in the mode, you’ll have a tougher time finding the specialized versions that were introduced in Season 3 of Warzone 2. To help you get your hands on the Secured backpack you’ve been looking for, we’ll outline all the possible paths in our COD DMZ guide.
Warzone 2 DMZ – How to Get a Secured Backpack
The easiest way to get a Secured Backpack is to craft it yourself using a Gold Skull, a Gas Can, and an Electric Drill. Take these to any Buy Station and you can craft different recipes depending on the extraction zone you’re in, but some recipes always remain the same, including the backpacks. With some decent luck, this bag won’t be too hard to acquire. Below you can find the recipe to craft one of these packs.
Secured Backpack Recipe in COD DMZ:
- 1 Electric Drill
- 1 Gas Can
- 1 Gold Skull
Two of those items are easy to find but the Gold Skull can cause an issue. Because the Gold Skull is mainly associated with the Scavenger boss, it may be easier to take him down and hope for a Secured Backpack as loot when he falls. If he doesn’t, you still have the Gold Skull and you can craft the pack that you want at a Buy Station. Some of the other bosses have a chance to drop a Gold Skull as well, and can even be found in the Koschei Complex.

If you get really lucky, you can definitely find some of these backpacks in random chests, which is different than items like the 3-Plate Stealth Vest, so feel free to loot areas as well. And as always, you can hunt down other players for a chance at any loot within the DMZ.
