Does Diablo 4 Have Open World PvP? – Answered

We shall see...

Diablo fans are pleased about Diablo 4’s upcoming release which is just around the corner. The expectations cannot be higher in the community, especially after the Diablo: Immortal fiasco season (no mate, we don’t have phones, and if we did, they are used to call people and take calls, right?). Diablo 4 will release on March 17, 2023 on PC (Windows), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X, so last-gen console users will be able to grab a taste of the new Diablo game. However, many players are interested in the PvP aspect of the game, and Prima Games reports on the availability of the Open World PvP feature within Diablo 4.

Will Diablo IV Have Open World PvP? – Answered

Diablo 4 (or Diablo IV, however you like it), will indeed have Open World PvP. This will, however, not imply that you will have a target on your back everywhere you go. PvP will need to be enabled on your character for you to be able to engage in a fight.

There will be designated areas where you can settle the score with other players, and they will be called “Fields of Hatred“. To bring even more chaos into Fields of Hatred, Blizzard has also decided to add PvE objectives.

As you play around in the Fields of Hatred, you will earn Shards of Hatred. Shards of Hatred are a currency that cannot really be used at will. You must purify (cleanse, convert) them at an Altar. And that’s not the end of this Catch-22. Everyone in the area will be aware that you are doing so, and will probably be coming for you, not just to stop you, but to take those precious Shards in cold blood. Seems like a fun and exciting experience all in all.
