One of the most difficult components to find for the Inventor Job is Natural Magnetite. However, it is essential if you want to unlock one of the best of the inventor skills, Arkar’s Coil. Here is how to find Natural Magnetite in Octopath Traveler 2.

How to Find Natural Magnetite in Octopath Traveler 2

Natural Magnetite exists in one place: the Unfinished Tunnel in the Wildlands. It is a spot that is easy to miss. Here is how to get to it.

From Leaflands, Cropdale, head right to enter Eastern Cropdale Trail. Keep right for a significant amount of time until there is a chance to head north. A new icon should pop up on your map in the shape of a diamond. Head to the diamond that is at the top of the map. This will allow you to enter Southern Crackridge Wilds.

Head north, and you will see a group of men near the save point. This is the entrance to the Unfinished Tunnel, but the Overseer will block your entrance. You can fight him with Ochette, knock him out with Castti, challenge him with Hikari, or ambush him with Throne.

Do whatever it takes to bring him down, and you will be able to enter the tunnel, which has a level recommendation of level 34. The foreman will stop you and warn you of a monster in the tunnels. This conversation will trigger the side quest “Cave Monster”.

If you do not feel confident about taking down the boss, don’t worry! You don’t have to. The Natural Magnetite is in a red and gold treasure chest.

Here is how to get to it (while avoiding the boss’ location). From the foreman, follow the tracks and take the first turn down. Go down a few meters and you will see a wooden ramp to your right. Go down it, and you will see a brown chest. Continue down and you will see another ramp, which you should follow.

Your character will temporarily vanish from the screen but keep following the path until you see a ladder. Climb up the ladder and there will be a red and gold chest which contains the Natural Magnetite!
