Dark Souls 2 Walkthrough: Things Betwixt – How to get Started

After an impressive opening cinematic in Dark Souls 2, run forward through the brush, up the stairs and across the bridge into the hut beyond. Open the door to see another cut-scene, followed by the character creation screen. Once your character is created, head through the door and cut down the cart to the left. Pick up the item behind the cart to obtain a Soul of a Lost Undead and a torch. Light the bonfire, then head out through the opening to the right.

Head into the first mist on the left to go through what is essentially combat training. Go all the way to the end, then up the hill to the left to find a Dagger and two enemies just beyond. Once complete, head back to the main path and to the left to find the next mist. The next area offers more combat and movement training. At the end of the area are two Amber Herb items.

Continue down the path and into the next mist area on the left. Knock down the tree on the right to cross the gap, kill the enemy beyond, then drop down into the area below and kill the enemy that resides there. Climb the ladder and kill the next enemy, then head through the mist.

Head to the left and kill the enemy in your path. Knock down the tree ahead to get back to the main path. Go left until you reach the end of the path and enter Majula.
