The wait for the PC version of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is almost over, and fans of the series can soon dive into the latest adventure in the Remake series from Square Enix. Unlike Final Fantasy VII Remake, which took nearly two years to release on PC, Rebirth arrived just 11 months after its PlayStation 5 release. Following the success of the first part, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has already become a top seller on Steam, making its way into the platform’s top 25 list.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Hits Steam’s Top 25

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is available to pre-order on Steam and the Epic Games Store in the form of multiple bundles and at a discounted price. Since Steam tracks the top sellers based on revenue, we can see the live list of the best-selling titles on Steam. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has finally hit the 25th spot on the list overtaking upcoming titles like Civilization VII, and Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.

The title is still three weeks away from release, and we expect Final Fantasy VII Rebirth to continue climbing the Steam charts leading up to the release.

It also helps that the pre-order period offers a reduced price, including a bundle that contains both Final Fantasy VII Remake and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth for newcomers to the Remake series. Either way, this is good news for Square Enix, as the PC platform continues to deliver strong sales for the publisher.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth PC Release Date

The game is coming to PC and the Epic Games Store on January 23, 2025.

Compared to Final Fantasy 7 Remake, sales for Rebirth haven’t been as strong, and we hope that the next entry adopts a multi-platform approach at launch. Releasing the title that’s now enjoyed by players across different platforms on just the PS5 doesn’t help sales in the slightest.

Square Enix has acknowledged this and confirmed in their “New Medium-term Business Plan” for Fiscal Year 2025 to Fiscal Year 2027 that they will “aggressively pursue a multi-platform strategy that includes Nintendo platforms, PlayStation, Xbox, and PCs”. PC is the key platform here as it has shown success for plenty of major and smaller Square Enix releases over the last few years.
