Season 1 of Marvel Rivals will span three months and introduce the Fantastic Four as playable characters.

In the first half of the season, players can look forward to playing as Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman, while Human Torch and The Thing will make their debut in the latter half.

Each member of the Fantastic Four will bring unique abilities to the game. Both Mister Fantastic and Human Torch will join the roster as Duelist heroes, excelling in one-on-one combat and fast-paced skirmishes.

Meanwhile, The Thing, with his unyielding rocky strength and durability, will serve as a Vanguard hero, giving tank enthusiasts another powerful option for their lineup.

Invisible Woman is set to take on the role of Strategist, and her shield-based abilities are expected to play a critical part in her kit. While details are still under wraps, it’s exciting to speculate about her potential support capabilities.

For instance, she could offer bubble shields to protect teammates, similar to Magneto’s short-duration shields, but with the added twist of healing properties. Though unconfirmed, this possibility has fans eagerly awaiting further details.

In addition to introducing four new heroes, Season 1 of Marvel Rivals will also debut three new maps. The Season 1 trailer showcased the Baxter Building and a darker version of New York City overrun by Dracula.

The first map, Empire of Eternal Night in New York City: Sanctum Sanctorum, and Midtown (Convoy Map), will be available during the first half of the season. Central Park, the third map, will arrive in the second half of the season, adding even more variety to the battlegrounds.

However, if you happen to buy the Eternal Night Fall Battle Pass for 990 Lattice, you can earn back 600 Lattice and 600 Units by unlocking the rewards. The new Battle Pass will feature 10 stunning costumes, plus their related content such as sprays and emotes.

Season 1 Doom Match Game Mode in Marvel Rivals

Season 1, titled Eternal Night Falls, will also introduce a thrilling new game mode: Doom Match (Arcade Mode). This mode pits 8 to 12 players against each other on a single map, each representing a different faction. All factions are hostile to one another, making it a chaotic free-for-all fight.

To secure victory, players must eliminate rival heroes and villains. At the end of the match, the top 50% of players will automatically be deemed the winners. This unique mechanic ensures every match is intense and keeps the stakes high for all participants.

As hinted in Marvel Rivals Dev Vision Vol. 03, Hela and Hawkeye will be getting nerfs with Wolverine and Storm getting some buffs. It is still unclear how the balancing of each hero will take effect but we are speculating on increased cooldown time of abilities and reduced damage for some.

Captain America and Venom, two of the current mobile Vanguard tanks will also get changes. These both are already excellent heroes but could use some balancing such as increased shield health for Captain America and reduced cooldown on select abilities for Venom.

That is everything you need to know about the release date, time, characters, game modes, maps, and other new additions coming to Season 1 of Marvel Rivals. For more about the game, we recommend checking out our How To Install Mods for Marvel Rivals on PC guide.
