Witchfire: How To Get And Use Demonic Ammo

Reserve your demonic ammo for bosses and elite enemies only.

In Witchfire, you’ll come across a variety of weapons, each with unique stats for damage, stability, handling, and aiming. While some weapons perform better than others, not all are the same, and some use demonic ammo instead of the standard type. Early on, you might find yourself confused about how to use demonic ammo, and this guide will help clear things up.

Ammo drops randomly from enemies during your expeditions, and there’s a chance you’ll find demonic ammo along with standard ammo. Additionally, while exploring, keep an eye on your map for icons of two small crystal balls—these mark locations where you can find both standard and demonic ammo.

Some ammo spots are randomly marked on the map, while others need to be uncovered by interacting with grave-like objects.

During expeditions, you may also find a Supply Key, which unlocks blue-colored ammo chests. These chests contain a higher quantity of demonic ammo.

When you meet all the requirements to increase the game’s difficulty by unlocking Gnosis 1, a Collector vendor becomes available. This NPC sells consumables, including ammo packs.

Additionally, by investing Demonic Points at the Ascension Shrine to boost your Luck stat, you’ll increase the chances of finding demonic ammo, in addition to standard ammunition, when defeating enemies.

For chance-based Arcana, if you come across the “Phantom Blades” Arcana, it’s worth picking up. This gives you a chance to have misfired bullets returned to your weapon’s magazine, applying to both standard and demonic ammo types.

Out of three weapon slots, two use standard ammunition, while the third one is reserved for you to unlock and equip a demonic weapon. Only a demonic weapon will utilize demonic ammo, and the standard weapons that you see slotted in the first two weapon slots can never use demonic ammo.

This is because you cannot use the ammo types in Witchfire. Therefore, the following three Demonic weapons are made available in the Early Access version of the game to use Demonic ammo:

  • Vulture Crossbow
  • Falling Star Grenade Launcher
  • Whisper Stun Gun

NOTE: You do not start Witchfire with a Demonic weapon unless you pick the Saint class. If you did not pick this class, then your first demonic weapon will be the Vulture crossbow, which can be unlocked via research in the Workshop in the Hermitorium.
