Will the Progress From Beta Carry Over in Diablo 4? – Answered

It's all for naught.. or is it?

Everyone can enjoy a good time in Diablo IV this weekend. The Open Beta period starts on March 24, when anyone can start their own journey on these desolated lands pursuing Lilith. But is it really worth delving into this world head considering this is only a Beta period? Will the characters you’ve leveled and the items you’ve obtained still be there when the game is out?

Does Progress from Open Beta Carry Over in Diablo 4? – Answered

Unfortunately, no progress will carry over to the full release of Diablo 4. Anything you’ve achieved in this brief period will be wiped out as soon as servers are closed at the beginning of the next week. What does carry over is your progress from Early Access, available for those who pre-ordered any of its three editions.

The same also applies when it comes to the Server Slam as no progress will be carried over from it. You can only start grinding “definitely” after the game’s official release on June 6th.

This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t give the game a chance for now. In fact, this is actually the perfect chance to do so. It’s better to test the game now to be completely sure you’re willing to pay for its full price in release, because those grindy ARPGs are highly addicting, but might not be everyone’s cup of tea. And Diablo IV seems to be WAY too invested in the grinding part.

There are five different classes, so you can also create various characters until you find your perfect class/build. And you’ll be amazed at the variety of build combinations you can come up with, so take this time as the ideal “find my class” period.

Also, players who partook in the Beta or in the Server Slam are eligible to receive the Beta Wolf Pack, the cutest thing ever! All that it takes is to level at least one character to level 20, and leveling is quite easy in the early game, so you should have no problem with that. Just take it slow and don’t burn yourself out over a Beta period.
