Will Splitgate 2 Have Crossplay Support? – Answered

Splitgate is back!

Splitgate 2 has been officially announced by developer 1047 Games, and it’s a sequel to their free-to-play first-person shooter that combines Portal and Halo. This new release aims to refine the mechanics of the first title with 4v4 action, portals, and multiple factions. It’s also a free-to-play title coming to multiple platforms including PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series, PS4, and PS5. The first title had crossplay support from the start, but will Splitgate 2 have crossplay? Here is everything you need to know.

Will Splitgate 2 Have Crossplay Support?

Yes, Splitgate 2 will have crossplay support similar to the first release.

This was confirmed on Steam, Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store page for Splitgate 2, with “cross-platform” tags available on each. The PlayStation page doesn’t have these tags, but it’s fair to assume that it will also support the feature like the original release.

The developers have confirmed that we’ll hear more about Splitgate 2 in August 2024, and we’ll likely get official confirmation by then, but there’s no real reason for the title to not support crossplay on any specific platform.

Splitgate 2 is coming to PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, PS4, and the PS5 next year in 2025. Check out the official announcement trailer below which shows off the new aesthetics, characters, and world.

As mentioned earlier, we’ll likely see actual gameplay in August, but for now, here are a few in-game screenshots to appreciate.

At this point, we’re unsure if Splitegate 2 will have cross-progression support. That would be a welcome feature, considering this is a free-to-play title, and players should be able to pick up their progress and access their content on different platforms.

It’s great to learn that Splitgate 2 has crossplay support, unlike NBA 2K25’s limited support of the feature.
