The main protagonist of FFXVI is Clive Rosfield. The firstborn son of the Archduke of Rosaria. Clive is of noble descent, and is known as a “Branded.”

In the world of Final Fantasy XVI, people who harness the power of the Eikons are known as “Dominants,” and while Clive can wield their power, he is not a Dominant himself. Our protagonist uses the powers of Pheonix, Ifrit, Shiva, and more to smite his foes.
