Where to Get Chicory in City 20

If only you can eat these plants.

City 20 has several common materials, but some are crucial to stock up on. One of those materials is the common plant Chicory. It is used to craft multiple items and is one of the core materials in the early game. Here’s how to get Chicory and what it is used for in City 20.

How to Get Chicory in City 20

Chicory drops in the forest or grassy areas. If you go outside of your home and follow the road, you’ll eventually see some trees in the area. Chicory literally drops from these trees, and you’ll see them randomly on the floor.

However, this rarely happens. You can go up to the tree and interact with it by pressing the left mouse button, and your character will shake the tree until it drops items. Most of the time, it’ll drop some branches, but it can also drop some Chicory.

You can also bring a Makeshift Hatchet and start cutting down the tree to give you a chance at some wood logs on top of the Chicories and branches. However, it isn’t required. Cutting down the tree will not increase your chances of getting Chicory. It only gives you a chance to get more wood branches and logs.

What is Chicory Used For in City 20?

Chicory is mainly used for making Makeshift Beds and Makeshift Hatchets. You need at least seven Chicories to craft a single Makeshift Bed. Since the game is single-player, you don’t really need to craft multiple of them for other players. However, Makeshift Hatchets do eat up some of your Chicory.

This is because Makeshift Hatchets break fast when chopping down trees. The Makeshift Hatchet’s maximum durability can only chop down two to three trees at best. It is kind of ridiculous, and you’ll need a lot of Chicory to keep crafting these tools.
