Tears of the Kingdom Is My First Ever Zelda Game and It’s a Wild Ride

Where to Find White-Maned Lynel in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (TotK)

Good luck!

Hyrule is brimming with enemies in Tears of the Kingdom. Some are easy to face, like the humble Bokoblin, while others will one-shot you and take you back to square one. Lynels tend to offer the latter, being one of the toughest enemies to find on the mainland due to their speed and power, and when you start exploring and actively avoid any enemy that could hit you so hard to go back to the sky islands, it seems like Lynels are absolutely everywhere. In reality, there are just a handful of locations to actively avoid when exploring, or if you’re feeling particularly courageous, locations to head toward. Here’s where to find White-Maned Lynels in Tears of the Kingdom.

In total, there are four white-maned Lynels to find (or avoid) across mainland Hyrule. Generally, plateaus and plains tend to home the vast majority of Lynels, and there are both blue and red-maned to consider when exploring too. So, if you’re gliding from a tower or mountain, it’s best to keep an eye on the ground below if it seems like a stretch of open space. Getting caught with a Lynel when you’re least expecting it can be a pretty unsavory surprise, but we’ve located all the white-maned Lynels on mainland Hyrule so you know where to tread lightly.

The first can be found in Kamah Plateau (1490, -2996, 0211) just west of Florida Falls. This Lynel is more than likely to be among the first white-maned, if not generally one of the first Lynels you’ll stumble across due to its location. It won’t take a lot of exploring from where you spawn in Tears of the Kingdom since it’s pretty close to central Hyrule, but be sure to do some preparations before you go hunting.

The second can be found in Nautelle Wetlands (-0623, -3825, 0050) southwest of Ishokin Shrine. If you’re hunting for white-maned Lynels, then this one is probably the easiest to locate once you’ve defeated the first since all you need to do is head west. It won’t take too much running to locate this Lynel, but the wetlands make it slightly harder to face since the rain means you won’t be able to climb or start fires.

The third is toward Ukuku Plains (3875, 0976, 0248), just south of Jochi-ihiga Shrine. This Lynel will take slightly more exploration to find, but if you’re visiting Zora’s Domain or you’ve just finished up at the Water Temple, it won’t take you too long to glide down and locate this beast.

Finally, the fourth in Risoka Snowfield (-4447, -1007, 0508). If you’re heading into the Gerudo Desert, then this Lynel won’t be too out of your way. However, it’s essential to note you will need to head into the mountains to face this one, and you’ll need to have cold resistance armor alongside some cold resistance meals to give yourself the best chance is coming out on top.

White-maned Lynels are one of the stronger species, one notch below silver which are undeniably among the hardest enemies to face within the game, so you’ll need to be well-equipped before you dash into battle with them. Luckily, we’ve got guides on how to get ahold of stronger weapons, alongside a guide on how to get the Lynel mask if you wanted to slip by unnoticed rather than engaging in battle.
