Groudon has been a favorite since its introduction in Generation III, and it’s made its big debut in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. It may be hard to track this one down, so let’s get on our Legendary Pokemon and search for this giant Pokemon.
Where to Search for Groundon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
The first thing you’ll need to do is complete the game and speak with Snacksworth, who can be found waiting for you near the Entrance of Blueberry Academy. If you’ve completed 10 Solo Quests in Scarlet or 10 Group Quests in Violet, he’ll hand over a Groudon Snack and a small hint as to where you may be able to locate them. Unfortunately, this hint doesn’t give us a whole lot of direction, so let’s just skip to the good part, shall we?
To find Groudon, we’re going to first need to fly back to Paldea and visit the town of Alfornada. Once you have landed at the spot shown on the map above, you’ll want to head toward the cave in the southeastern part of the map. You can see my character icon at the entrance to the cave.
You’ll find your favorite Gen III Legendary waiting inside for you. But once you’ve entered, where do you need to go? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with the video below. Just make sure that you’ve unlocked the ability to fly on your Legendary before partaking in this part; it makes things easier. You can climb up the walls, as well, if you’re not feeling like loading back into Blueberry Academy.
Once you’ve arrived at your destination, approach Groudon and interact with it to start the battle. At Level 70, it’s a powerful Pokemon, but your Level 100 team may make quick work of them. Bring Pokemon that can withstand its attacks and plenty of Ultra Balls if you’re hoping to bring it home. Or, use the mystery gift Master Ball to ensure that you won’t need to start your game up again if all things go south.
Now that you’ve gathered up one of the many available Legendary Pokemon available in the Indigo Disk, make sure that you’re ready and prepared to take on Zapdos by speaking to Snackworth once again. There is plenty to do in this new expansion, so make sure you check out our section below to find out everything you need to know about The Indigo Disk.
