How to Use the Indigo Style Card in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

To use the Indigo Style Card, you have to visit a boutique or hair salon in Paldea. Once you have the Indigo Style Card, press Y to open the map. If you’re not in Paldea, use the L and R buttons to scroll from your current location to Paldea. Select any location that has a hair stylist or boutique. Enter the boutique, or go into the hair salon and speak to the receptionist. They’ll “notice your Indigo Style card” and automatically update their catalog.

You only need to do this twice: once at a hair salon, and once at any clothing boutique. Once your catalog gets updated, all boutiques will have their new items in stock, and all hair salons will have the new hair styles available.

Where’s the Best Place to Use The Indigo Style Card?

The most convenient way to activate the Indigo Style Card is by flying to “Levincia (North)” in Paldea. There is a hair salon and multiple boutiques right beside the Pokemon Center. While you’ll have to head to Cascarrafa and Mesagoza eventually to check out their boutiques’ new wares, their shops aren’t as close by to their fast travel points and are located at different elevations to boot.

How to Tell Which Styles are New to the Indigo Style Card

You can tell which styles are newly added by the Indigo Style Card by checking the icon to the top left of their brand icon when in the store. Items new to the Indigo Style Card will have a light blue, rectangular icon on the top left with three white sparkles.

This can look very similar to the teal icon meant for items unlocked by the Teal Style Card, as seen in the image above. Depending on your screen or monitor settings, they can seem almost indistinguishable. In this case, the style listed first will be the one added by the Teal Style Card, and the style listed second will be from the Indigo Style Card. For example, in the image above, “Riding Gloves” come from the Teal Style Card, and “Trainer Gloves” are from the Indigo Style Card.

How to Get the Indigo Style Card

After starting The Indigo Disk DLC, you’ll meet Lacey and have a required double battle against her. Defeat her team of Plusle, Minun, and Excadrill to receive a Blueberry Academy uniform. Immediately afterward, Director Cyrano will give you the Indigo Style Card.

You’ll be asked to enter the Terrarium after getting the Indigo Style Card, but you can fly over to Paldea instead if you’d rather shop for new clothes before delving deeper into Blueberry Academy. All boutiques in Paldea will have new clothing items available for purchase.

Every boutique across Paldea has new items in stock after using the Indigo Style Card, but not every new fashion piece can be purchased. Check out our guide on every new fashion item and hairstyle in The Indigo Disk for information on how to obtain all the new clothing introduced in The Indigo Disk.
