Where Can I Find an Earth Crystal in Stardew Valley?

Earth Crystals are small, brown, diamond-shaped rocks that you can find in the Mines and Skull Cavern. Unlike regular gems found by breaking Gem Nodes, Earth Crystals can simply be picked up off the ground and don’t require you to break anything with your Pickaxe. They aren’t quite as valuable as Diamonds, but you will definitely find yourself needing some throughout your playthrough.

If you’re looking for the most reliable way to find an Earth Crystal, you should begin by searching the Mines. Earth Crystals can be found sitting on the floor on any level from 1 – 39 in the Mines. Skull Cavern also produces a decent amount of Earth Crystals, but since each floor is randomized in Skull Cavern, it’s hard to know when or where you might come across one there.

Geodes and Omni Geodes are items you find in the Mines that can be cracked open by the Blacksmith to reveal all sorts of crystals, gems, and ore. These can be found in the Mines and can also contain Earth Crystals. So, if you didn’t find any Earth Crystals during your trip to the Mines but you did find some Geodes, you might still get your hands on an Earth Crystal after all!

If you’re lucky, you can also find Earth Crystals by defeating certain Monsters. Duggys may drop Earth Crystals, which can be found on floors 1-29 in the Mines, and you can also find them by defeating Haunted Skulls or Golems if you chose the Wilderness Farm when you started your adventure.

Panning and Fishing Treasure Chests are the last few ways to find Earth Crystals, but the chances of finding one via these methods aren’t high enough to make them a viable way to search for them. You’re much better off taking a trip to the Mines.

What Can I Use Earth Crystals for in Stardew Valley?

There are many ways to put your Earth Crystals to use in Stardew Valley. You can use one to craft a Mayonnaise Machine, you could use 10x Earth Crystals, 10x Iridium Bars, and 500,000g to purchase the Earth Obelisk, but most importantly, you will want to keep hold of one to complete the Geologist’s Bundle in the Community Center.
