Amethyst Locations in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Amethyst gems in DDLV spawn exclusively in Frosted Heights and the Forgotten Lands. After unlocking either of these regions, you can break rock deposits to get amethyst, diamonds, or tourmaline, among other resources. If you’re lucky, you might even get a shiny gem!

Of these two regions, Frosted Heights is easier to access, only costing 10,000 Dreamlight after entering the Forest of Valor. The Forgotten Lands, on the other hand, costs 15,000 Dreamlight and requires you to open Sunlit Plateau first.

How to Find Amethyst Easily in Disney Dreamlight Valley

While there are no ways to quickly “farm” amethysts, there are several things you can do to make things easier. Below are a few tips and tricks you can use to find amethysts easier in DDLV:

  • Look for rocks with purple gems on their surface. These rocks guarantee an amethyst drop! They also significantly boost your chances of finding a shiny amethyst instead.
  • Hang out with a high-level mining character! The mining hangout bonus increases your chances of obtaining double drops whenever you break an ore rock. The higher someone’s friendship level is, the greater your chances of getting double the amethyst drops!
  • Mine every rock you find in both Frosted Heights and the Forgotten Lands. Even if a rock doesn’t have those shiny purple gems, you still have a chance to get some gems from regular deposits. Breaking normal rocks also allows new ones to spawn!

To quickly put this into perspective, I found a rock in Frosted Heights with purple gems. I asked Simba to hang out with me, as I have him at level 10 with the mining bonus. Sure enough, I got two amethysts from the rock! While they weren’t shiny versions, they still joined my collections of gems.
