There’s nothing like a day at the beach! Blue skies, white sands, and plenty of water Pokemon abound where the water meets land. But don’t relax too much. The grudges of the dead have found their way into the sandy dunes, and they want you to help them grow stronger.
Day or night, there’s a chance you’ll run into the spectral Sand Heap Pokemon, Sandygast! Sandygast is easy to miss at a distance. It’s a mere 1 foot tall, but don’t underestimate it. It weights a total of 154 pounds and with its gaping, void-like mouth, it’s able to possess trainers who dare to touch it, forcing them to build it larger. And, failing that, it’ll throw sand in your eyes to blind you.
Who wouldn’t want to add this Pokemon to their team?
Where to Catch Sandygast in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
It’s possible that you’ve completed every battle challenge the Paldea region has put before you and still not stumbled across this Ghost and Ground Type Pokemon. As you might have gleaned from its sand and seashell studded body, it prefers the beach. But it’s not a particularly common Pokemon, appearing only in East Province (Area Two), South Province (Area Five), and West Province (Area Two). While not guaranteed, I’ve consistently found at least one of these Pokemon on the beach south of Levincia in East Province (Area Two).

But if this isn’t working for you, there’s another hidden spawn point for Sandygast! This isn’t shown on the Pokedex habitat card, but you can head straight to Asado Desert and find one there! I had the most luck searching beneath the Asado Desert Watchtower.
Good luck finding that sand ghost, trainer! And remember, never pull out the shovel in its head!
