Where to Find a Sniper Rifle

Finding a sniper rifle in PUBG can be an easy task if you know where to look. A lot of times these elusive items can be found in military areas—like the camps on Sanhok, or the military base itself on Erangel. You’ll need to search these types of locations, and keep an eye out for them, as they can blend in with the rest of the different weapons you can find.

Now, the trick to finding snipers, though, is to know exactly what you’re looking for. Currently, the only real sniper rifle that you can find freely in the world is the Kar-98, which takes 7.62 ammunition. It’s a fantastic weapon for long-range combat, and can often be found inside of military buildings, tents, and locations surrounding military installations on each of the three maps in PUBG.

On top of searching military bases, you’ll also want to keep an eye open for air drops. These random drops are preceded by airplanes overhead, which drop the crates off in higher populated areas. You’ll find the most powerful of the game’s sniper rifles in these air drops, so you’ll want to keep an eye out for them and loot them as quickly as possible if you’re looking to really spice up things.

There are also several non-sniper rifle weapons throughout the game that work similar to sniper rifles. These include the Mini-14 and the SKS, both of which work similar to sniper rifles and can be found scattered throughout the game world. While these are great weapons, though, the best firepower will be found in sniper rifles, so do you best to keep an eye out for them as you explore the world and strive to be the last person standing in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.
