Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has arrived, bringing the latest entry to Insomniac’s superhero game franchise exclusively to the PlayStation 5, but the game is not yet available on PlayStation Plus. Here is everything we know about when Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 could join Sony’s gaming subscription service.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PlayStation Plus Release Date
As of this writing, there is no news on a potential Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PlayStation Plus release date. The game is only currently available to purchase in its standard ($69.99), deluxe ($79.99), and collector’s editions ($229.99). This is certainly disappointing for PlayStation Plus subscribers who would like to enjoy the game as part of their paid subscription.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PlayStation Plus Release Window
While there is no news on a PlayStation Plus release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, through looking back at previous first-party releases from PlayStation, we can estimate when the game might arrive on Sony’s subscription service. For example, Horizon Forbidden West was added to PlayStation Plus almost exactly one year after its 2022 release, as the Guerilla Games’ smash hit landed in the “Extra” tier of PS Plus on February 21, 2023. Using Horizon Forbidden West’s window, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 could hypothetically arrive on PlayStation Plus in October 2024. However, this release window has not yet been confirmed.
What Other Marvel Games are on PlayStation Plus?
Currently, there are two other Marvel experiences included with PlayStation Plus, including Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, as well as the Square Enix published Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Both games include PS4 and PS5 versions with PlayStation Plus in the Extra tier.
To recap, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has no current window to be released on PlayStation Plus, but will potentially arrive a year from now in October 2024 based on previous first-party releases that came to PlayStation Plus.
