Valorant curiously released a new Act without a new agent or map to be added, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t one coming soon. Here’s when the next Valorant agent will be released in-game.
When Will the Episode 8 Act 2 Agent Be Released in Valorant?
The exact release date for the new Valorant agent hasn’t been revealed yet, though there are some clues we can point to as far as when the agent could be released. The biggest clue comes through the State of the Agents post released on March 1, which says the agent will release “later this month”. That doesn’t give much to go off of, except that the Masters Madrid esports event for the game has its playoffs occurring between March 21 and March 24. This would not only line up with the blog post but would also add a reason to watch the grand finals. Of course, the team could reveal the agent much sooner, but it wouldn’t make quite as much sense.
Who Will the New Agent Be?
As for what we can expect from the agent, the State of the Agents blog post is our best tidbit of info once again. According to the post, Agent 25 will be a Controller agent who will make smokes “take on a new life”. While the team is as tight-lipped as ever on this, some of the blog post seems to imply that this Controller will have some potential as an entry fragger in contrast to the rest of the Controller lineup. Until we get the full reveal and details though, it’s hard to say for certain. Either way, they should hopefully bring something new and interesting to the table.
