Ben Affleck Loves VALORANT Like The Rest Of Us

Ben Affleck is best known for films like Good Will Hunting, Gone Girl, and Argo, as well as playing Batman.

In a recent appearance on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast, Affleck discussed his favorite games, including his love for VALORANT and how competitive the game is.

Affleck called VALORANT a great game, but admitted that playing against kids has become a humbling experience. “I just get f**king rocked,” he said, explaining why the competitive shooter can be very punishing. He also described the experience as humiliating, a feeling plenty of players can probably relate to when they get outplayed in a ranked match.

However, VALORANT is far from the only game Affleck enjoys. The actor has been playing games for decades, and he has dabbled in some great OG games.

Ben Affleck Is a Die-Hard Gamer

Affleck talked a lot about the different games he has enjoyed over the years. He recalled how StarCraft became a major part of his life after he found fame. The actor said he spent three years mostly staying home and playing Blizzard’s iconic real-time strategy game.

“There was a game called StarCraft that probably took the most life out of me for a period of time,” Affleck explained. He also talked about his love for RTS and civilization-building games and felt that they have gone out of style.

Affleck also remembered playing Doom while working on Good Will Hunting with Matt Damon. He recalled taking long breaks from writing to play the classic first-person shooter, which was released in 1993. But Doom isn’t the oldest game he has played. Affleck mentioned spending hours playing retro classics like Donkey Kong, Tetris, and Ms Pac-Man.

He also still enjoys sports games, including NBA 2K and Madden, which he plays with his son. Unfortunately for Affleck, those sessions don’t always go his way either.

But the most interesting part of the interview was him recalling one of his favorite games called Myst.

“You know there is an old game called Myst; that was a fabulous game,” he added, and said he would love to see a modern take on the game.

It’s great to see such a legendary actor show his love for games. While he might be struggling against younger players in VALORANT today, his long history with games shows that gaming has been a consistent part of his life for decades.
