A look at when Season 7 will end, and when Season 8 will begin.

Knowing how much time is left can be great motivation to finish Quests. So, if you’re wondering when Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 will begin, here’s what you need to know!

When Does Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 Start?

The quick answer to the question of when Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 will start is September 13. With previous Seasons, downtime has begun at approximately 2:00 a.m. (EST) so it’s likely that the Season 7 will end around September 12 at 2:00 a.m. (EST) with the downtime for Season 8.

After the downtime is up, Season 8 will officially be available for Fortnite players to explore and enjoy. As for the reason behind the September 12 and September 13 start dates, Epic Games previously specified that Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7 will end on September 12.

Inevitably, when one Season ends the next begins. As of right now, Epic Games has yet to say anything about what sort of content will be included in Season 8 and are instead focusing on wrapping up alien-themed Season 7.

Even though Epic Games is keeping quiet, a few leaks have emerged suggesting some exciting things such as a potential Naruto crossover with the Season 8 Battle Pass, the return of Battle Stars, a tie-in to Stranger Things, and more.

Given these are leaks and rumors rather than anything directly confirmed directly by Epic Games, we recommend taking the information with a grain of salt. Not saying these things aren’t true (for example, we imagine the return of Battle Stars to be highly likely), but we are saying that Season 8 information like a Naruto crossover can’t be explicitly confirmed right now.

The only way to confirm these things is to see them in the game, or have them be formally announced by Epic Games. Until more information is released about Season 8, the best we have to go on is the September 13 start date.

Out of everything, that seems to be the most concrete piece of information we have. Specifically, that Season 7 will end on September 12 and downtime for Season 8 will begin at approximately 2:00 a.m. (EST). After that, Season 8 should be available for Fortnite players the morning of September 13

Be sure to check back, as we’ll be updating our information on Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 as details emerge. Until then, what are you hoping to see in Season 8? Does the idea of a potential Naruto crossover excite you? What about a potential tie-in with Stranger Things?
