What to do after beating the Fire Giant in Elden Ring

Elden Ring has some boss encounters that will fill your screen and make you feel inconsequential, and the Fire Giant is maybe the biggest of them all. It will feel like a fight against two feet, and when it is over players may be left with questions. Foremost among them will be what to do after beating the Fire Giant.

In the distance, beyond where players fight the Fire Giant, you should be able to see a large bowl-shaped structure. Climb the chain that runs up to it, then head to the left. Follow the lip all the way around and you will come to the Forge of the Giants Site of Grave. Rest here, and you will have a choice to make.

Spoilers ahead

One of the options in your menu will be Talk to Melina. If you pick this, she will appear and speak with you and will ask you a question. Are you ready to commit a cardinal sin? You can select no and continue to explore the world as it is, making sure you have encountered all the bosses you wish to meet, or you can select yes.

Doing so will cause a change in the world state, as Melina sacrifices herself to burn the Erdtree. You will also be teleported to a new area, Crumbling Farum Azula. This area is expansive and filled with all manner of new threats. From there, you can explore this area and push the story forward. Be warned, however, it really is tough, and there are enemies here who can instantly kill you with the Blight status effect.
