What Should You Use Ancient Technology Points on in Palworld? – Answered

So, you’ve triumphed over an Alpha Pal, or taken down a boss Tower. And now you’ve got a stash of Ancient Technology Points waiting to be spent. But not all purchases are equal. Some will benefit you early game, while others are better left locked until you have plenty of points and resources.

Every time you defeat an Alpha Pal, you get one Ancient Technology Point. When you take down boss Tower, you get five. And those points can then be converted to a variety of unique unlockables found in your Technology menu, which can be located by tabbing right in your inventory.

Ancient Technology Points can only be used on items in the far-right column, which are highlighted in purple. And, at the beginning of the game, there’s only one item that you must craft. And that’s the Grappling Gun.

The Grappling Gun is essential for moving quickly around the massive, sprawling map of Palworld. It can be the make-or-break tool that decides whether you have enough stamina to climb up a cliff face. It can be what saves you if you clip through the map, or if you wind up stuck between objects. It can save you so much time.

In comparison, no other unlock compares. The Statue of Power can be found in the Desolate Church, so you have access to it for free. The hip lantern, unfortunately, isn’t strong enough to outshine the hand torch. The feed bag can be convenient, but early on in the game when you have a limited number of Ancient Technology points, feeding isn’t that much of a hassle.

But as you reach mid-game, the next tool you’ll want is the Pal Distillation Pod. This unlock, which becomes available at level 14, will allow you to combine your Pals in order to create a better Pal of the same species. In this way, you can essentially create an “alpha” pal of your very own.

And once you have the Pal Distilation Pod, then the Single-Shot Sphere Launcher becomes useful. Perhaps even more useful than your Grapple Gun. But it’s a neck-and-neck race.
