What is the Rarest Pokemon in Pokemon GO? – Answered

You probably didn't even know that this Pokemon was in the game.

If you love Pokemon, the tagline “Gotta Catch ‘Em All” isn’t just catchy marketing, it’s a lifestyle. But in Pokemon GO, certain Pokemon are nigh impossible to obtain. But what Pokemon is the rarest in Pokemon GO? Here’s your question answered. At least to the best of our ability.

What is the Rarest Pokemon in Pokemon GO? – Answered

Pokemon GO is a unique addition to the series because, unlike mainline games, there are certain Pokemon that were released once and are unlikely to ever return.

There are many Pokemon that fall into this exclusive category. Pokemon that were given out as part of movie promos fall into this category, like all the Clone Pokemon (Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, Pikachu), and the mythical Pokemon Zarude fall into this category.

Pokemon with certain clothing accessories are also extremely rare. Consider Cowboy Hat Snorlax, who was only available during the in-person Pokémon GO Fest (2022), which took place in Berlin, Seattle, and Sapporo. Too bad for anyone who happened to live in any other country or continent!

Despite the huge travel barrier and its limited-time offering, Cowbow Hat Snorlax isn’t the rarest Pokemon in Pokemon GO.

That honor actually falls to Mow Form Rotom.

Like Cowboy Hat Snorlax, Mow Form Rotom was only available during the in-person Pokémon GO Fest (2022). But what elevates Rotom to this coveted position is that those attending had to purchase and complete a Special Research quest, which ended with Mow Form Rotom as the reward.

In contrast, Cowboy Hat Snorlax could be found as a Wild Encounter during the event, which means that most people were able to grab it. So, if you happen to have Mow Form Rotom, be proud. You have the rarest Pokemon in the game.
