Civilization 7 is a turn-based 4X strategy game, and you’ll probably play close to a thousand turns per playthrough. Once you start expanding your settlement and having several units to control and manage, you’ll eventually have to “put your effort” into decisions that matter.
Otherwise, you’ll spend hundreds of hours on a single playthrough. One way of making things quicker is to just use the next turn or end turn keybind. Here’s everything you need to know about the next turn, end turn, and automatic end turn keybinds and settings in Civilization 7.
What is the Next Turn or End Turn Keybind in Civilization 7?

This will be a little confusing because there are three different kinds of “end turn” you should know. Firstly, there’s the “Skip Turn” with the keybind “Spacebar.” Skip turn manually skips the turn of the current unit in action, as seen in the lower-right icon on your screen. The first unit under your command will skip the turn and you’ll be moved to the next one.
Second, there’s the “Next Turn” with the default keybind “Enter.” The next turn moves you past the movement actions and only forces you to go through important decisions such as research, civic upgrades, new policies, and more. Pressing enter will skip all remaining units and go to the next turn.
Third, there’s the “Force Next Turn” with the default keybind “Shift + Enter.” This forces the next turn regardless of what decisions or actions remain.
Each one of these is important to memorize, especially through long game sessions.

How to Turn On Auto End Turn and How Does it Work in Civilization 7?

There’s also an “Auto End Turn” feature in the game tab settings. This ends the turn automatically once all actions are fulfilled. So, when moving units, you can order those units to move a couple of tiles more than usual so they have something to do with the next few turns.
However, this is also a double-edged sword since something might come up and you need to change their direction. With Auto End Turn turned on, you cannot change their orders unless an event or decision needs attention. When this happens, you don’t have to make a decision first and move the unit you want to redirect before making the decision.
As for the other options in the image above, Unit Cycle Remaining Movement will cycle through all the units that can move after all other turn-blocking actions have been taken. As for the Auto Unit Cycle, it will just cycle through all units with movement actions remaining after expending all movement points for the selected unit.
The Auto End Turn feature will help you save some time, though. I highly suggest playing without any of these features turned on and just using the skip turn, next turn, and force next turn keybinds.
