The question is, “What is the sum of the enumerated things?” from the text, “There are seven houses, and each house has seven cats. Each cat kills seven mice, and each mouse has eaten seven grains of barley. Each grain would have produced seven gallons of cereal.
You only have to choose between 16,807 and 19,607.
Off the top of my head, I immediately used my calculator to solve for 75 to get the answer of 16,807.
After a few more turns, I got this notification for an incorrect answer. Getting the correct answer will give you a whopping +100 Science, which is big considering this is just a random question.
The answer was 19,607. You have to 71 +72 + 73 + 74 + 75 = 19,607. As a fun fact, the Papyrus Problem is stated as Problem 79 of the Rhind Mathematical Papyrus back in 1550 BCE. You’ll have to get the sum of the geometrical progression of five terms: houses, cats, mice, grains of barley, and cereal. Each term is 7, and the multiplier is 7, totaling 19,607.
Never thought you’d be learning both math and history, right?
If you did get the answer wrong, there’s a happiness penalty. You can make up for it by building settlements near freshwater, like rivers and lakes to remove some happiness penalties for people not having access to fresh water.
