What is the Academy Badge in Vampire Survivors Tides of the Foscari DLC? – Answered

Academy Badge is a new Passive item in Vampire Survivors Tides of the Foscari DLC, and many of you have already seen it pop out during your first run. Some players may be scared of losing their Growth after seeing the text, but Prima Games has experimented with the Academy Badge, and it’s actually not that bad! On the contrary, it has proven itself very useful. See what it does in Vampire Survivors below.

How to Unlock Academy Badge in Vampire Survivors Tides of the Foscari DLC

It’s unlocked by default technically, you just need to reach Level 30 with Eleanor and it will spawn under you, and then you can pick it up. Soon enough, you will be getting it as a choice on all of your characters, and you will be able to pick it up on the map as well.

What Does Academy Badge Do in Vampire Survivors Tides of the Foscari DLC?

Well, it says it offers additional Projectiles and Revivals and takes away your Growth (XP Gain). See the long-term perspective of this new Passive item below.

  • Level 2 – Fires 1 more projectile. XP gain decreases by -3%
  • Level 3 – Adds 1 Revival. XP gain decreases by -3%
  • Level 4 – Fires 1 more projectile. XP gain decreases by -3%
  • Level 5 – Adds 1 Revival. XP gain decreases by -3%
  • Level 6 – Fires 1 more projectile. XP gain decreases by -3%

Overall it’s a brutal item, because the 15% Growth loss is nothing, compared to three more projectiles and 2 more revivals. You will compensate the Growth easily with a Crown, Golden Eggs, and pre-game Power-Ups, so it’s not a big deal, really, we saw no achievements that require you to reach a certain level, so it’s just fine.

Regarding evolutions: There are no evolutions that involve the Academy Badge that we know of. We believe it’s an important part of the story and that you should have it on you when you complete quests in Tides of the Foscari.
