What Graphics Engine Does Jedi Survivor Use?

Much like Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Jedi Survivor is using Unreal Engine 4 to power its worlds. However, it does employ some new tricks, such as Ray Tracing, to take full advantage of the newest generation of consoles and their power. While the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 could handle the original title, there is no way that they could work with what Survivor is bringing to the table.

Unfortunately, it also seems that the newest generation of consoles may be struggling to support this new technology, as players have been mentioning and commenting on performance issues on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles, alongside PC. With all of the new technology under the hood, maybe using the aging engine wasn’t such a great idea, especially with the implementation of Ray Tracing and other fancy tech.

Why EA decided against using their proprietary Frostbite engine to power this game is a mystery, but with EA promising to provide patches to smooth out the general gameplay, it’s only time until we see what magic they’re working on behind the scenes. Until then, you can at least tweak some of the settings available in the game to help performance levels reach playable standards and reduce frame drops as much as possible.
