But what exactly does DMZ stand for in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2?

DMZ: What Does it Mean in Modern Warfare 2?

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2’s DMZ stands for “Demilitarized Zone.”

This is an entirely separate game mode that Modern Warfare 2 offers players; let’s look at what it entails.

What is DMZ mode?

DMZ mode is a bit tougher version of the Battle Royale. Instead of focusing on being the last one standing, players are given a set of tasks to try and complete.

The missions you are given vary, and the map is littered with AI Guards that you must take out. Still, the game involves an entire lobby of players, meaning you and your team are not the only ones attempting to complete these objectives.

The goal is to be the first to complete whatever task you are given without dying, whether to an AI Guard or another player. When you complete your missions, you will be rewarded with loot. You then will need to find your way to a specific exfiltration spot to escape.

DMZ is sort of a “hard mode” for Warzone players, making it pretty unique. It is a great mode to play if you are looking for something new from your everyday Battle Royale. Also, because DMZ is a part of Warzone 2.0, it is completely free.

Now that you know the meaning of DMZ, it is time to gear up and hop onto the battlefield. If you want to survive, you’ll need some good loot. Luckily, you can find out how to get Stronghold keys here, which will help you tremendously in DMZ.
