When you’re constructing the perfect Outpost in Starfield, you’ll ideally want as many options at your disposal as possible. Having materials to build the construction projects you have is just as important, but the more access you have to new things, the better. There’s a skill that can help with that, but how the upgrade requirements are worded can be a little offputting. Here’s what Outpost modules are in Starfield.
What is an Outpost Module in Starfield?
Outpost modules are any build that you construct within an outpost, as in anything that requires materials to construct. This includes any Structures, Power, Storage, and even Miscellaneous builds like the mission board and Self-Service Bounty Clearance. Placing each one down will count as one different Outpost module.
Placing these down can help you level the Outpost Engineering skill, which unlocks new Outpost modules for you to put in your Outpost. To gain access to the skill, you must first spend at least eight points in the Science tree of your skills, then put one point into Outpost Engineering. From there, you’ll need a point for each following level alongside the following requirements met:
- Level 1: No requirement.
- Level 2: Build five different Outpost modules.
- Level 3: Build 25 different Outpost modules.
- Level 4: Build 50 different Outpost modules.
Is Outpost Engineering Worth Leveling in Starfield?
The value of Outpost Engineering is entirely dependent on how much you care about Outposts. If you’re planning on farming resources either for builds or for selling, then Outpost Engineering can prove to be a massive help. If you’re only using it for a few select things, though, then you’re better off maybe investing a single point and grabbing it later when you’re almost maxed out on skills.
