Shortly after Season 2 went live and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play was available to play, we got one major change to the CDL ruleset that restricted the ISO Hemlock. Now the Kastov 762 may be on the chopping block following the Major III event for the Call of Duty League.
With Season 2 Reloaded on the horizon, plenty of changes are on the way to MW2 overall, and it seems like Ranked Play wasn’t left unscathed. Our guide will cover whether the Kastov 762 has been banned or not, and the other changes that you can expect in the CDL ruleset.
COD MW2 Ranked Play – Was the Kastov 762 Banned?
In a surprise update on March 14, Treyarch confirmed that the Kastov 762 would be added to the restricted weapons list for the CDL ruleset. That means players who were fond of the AK-47 will need to look for a new alternative or stick to the TAQ-56 like so many other players.
This isn’t the first assault rifle that was banned in MW2 Ranked Play, but it might be the most surprising. The list of restricted ARs in Call of Duty includes the M4, STB 556, Kastov-74u, Chimera, ISO Hemlock, and now the Kastov 762. Assault rifles that can be used get slimmer and slimmer with each major update.

Along with the new weapon ban, the weapon tuning feature has been removed from the Ranked Play mode altogether in Modern Warfare 2. Attachments will finally be uniform and loadouts will go back to the simplicity that they had in some of the other titles.
