Was the Birdseye Perk Removed From COD Warzone 2?

No more eyes in the sky.

Birdseye Perk

Birdseye has been one of the most talked about perks since it was introduced to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 in Season 1. Players have continued to display why the perk is so powerful in the right hands, leading to many loadouts containing the Ultimate Perk based on UAV.

Now that we’re close to Season 2 in February, though, it could be time for Infinity Ward to start cleaning house. There was an update introduced to Warzone 2 on January 30, and some items have already disappeared. We’ll go over whether the Birdseye Perk was one of the items that was taken away and what could take its place.

COD Warzone 2 – Was the Birdseye Perk Removed?

Though some of the largest Warzone 2 changes were left out of the patch notes on January 30, there is some bad news for fans of eyes in the sky. The Birdseye Perk was removed without any official listing from Infinity Ward in their blog or their notes. Regardless, that means the vision-based Ultimate Perk is no longer available for use in Warzone 2 specifically.

Because the battle royale is still based on pre-made Perk Packages when creating a loadout, there needs to be a replacement for the Birdseye Ultimate Perk. Instead of extra UAV, players will need to use Survivor until at least Season 2 or use a different Perk Package entirely for the remaining two weeks in the season.

When Season 2 arrives, players should be able to customize their Perk Packages in their loadouts to match their play style, which is how loadouts worked in the original Warzone. However, Infinity Ward confirmed that they would be looking at how Perks work in the battle royale, and they will be slowly rolled out as Season 2 progresses. So sit back and get used to the options we have for the time being in COD Warzone 2.
