Before diving into what cheats to use to raise your research and debate skill, let’s talk about how to turn them on! The process varies slightly depending on whether you’re on PC, Mac or console. Below are the keys you’ll have to activate to open the Sims 4 cheat menu:
- PC: Ctrl + Shift + C
- Mac: Cmd + Shift + C
- PlayStation: R1+ R2+ L1 + L2
- Xbox: RB + RT + LB + LT
Once the menu is open, type in testingCheats true to enable cheats!

Now that you’ve enabled cheats in your game, you can begin raising your Research and Debate skill instantly. To do this, type in stats.set_skill_level major_researchdebate #, replacing the # symbol with a number between 1-10. Doing this determines what Research and Debate level you’ll end up with! For example, typing in stats.set_skill_level major_researchdebate 1 makes your Research and Debate skill level one while stats.set_skill_level major_researchdebate 10 maxes it out!
