Warhammer 40K: Darktide Veteran Sharpshooter

The Best Veteran Sharpshooter Build in Warhammer 40K: Darktide

The best loadout for our favorite ranged fellow.

If you’re looking for a character in Warhammer 40K: Darktide who’s easy to learn and a great value to their team, the Veteran Sharpshooter is one of your best bets. Offering superior ranged damage over all of the other classes, with some decent melee damage as well, they can prevent your team from falling to even the worst of foes. If you’re looking to give them the best build possible, then you’ve come to the right place. Here’s the best build for the Veteran Sharpshooter in Warhammer 40K: Darktide.

The Best Loadout and Feats for Veteran Sharpshooter in Darktide

Starting with the weapon choice, some of the best melee options include the Chainsword, Chainaxe, and Power Sword. Like most classes, the Veteran wants their melee option to be able to handle specials and elites effectively, so all three options are great. We love using the Chainsword, especially for that classic feel, but we suggest trying all three and seeing what feels best to you.

The ranged option is even more flexible, with the Recon Lasgun or any of the available Autoguns being great for them. You want something for some clutch horde-clearing that isn’t just your grenade, so these weapons do that quite nicely with some solid special/elite damage to boot. You could also run something like the Boltgun or the Plasma Gun, but we feel these tend to leave your horde-clearing far too weak to be viable.

Moving over to your feat choice, we feel the following set of feats best complements our build:

  • Level 5: Exhilirating Takedown
  • Level 10: Sniper/Tactical Reload
  • Level 15: Bio-Optic Targeting
  • Level 20: Unwavering Focus
  • Level 25: One After Another
  • Level 30: Counterfire/The Bigger They Are

This feat build centers around assisting both you and your teammates to kill specials/elites as quickly as possible, while also giving you a fair few bonuses. When it comes to flexibility, level 10 should be chosen based on how often you feel you reload during games. If you’re constantly reloading your weapon after finishing the elites/specials in an area, then Tactical Reload will be your best bet. If you’re waiting till out of ammo though, Sniper will be better. The level 30 feat will come down to how much you trust your teammates, with The Bigger They Are to be taken when you have teammates you can trust. Otherwise, you’ll fair better with Counterfire.

Under the right circumstances, Veteran Sharpshooter can excel at assisting their team on the frontlines and keeping them alive. They may not have the greatest time in melee range, but at range, they can decimate whatever foe they come across.
