Something New God Roll in Destiny 2 Solstice 2023

If there’s one thing all guardians love, it’s giant orbs in the sky. And now it’s time to celebrate the big giant star we call the sun with bonfires and weapons! Chief among these instruments of violence is the Solstice hand cannon, Something New, which promises some bang for your buck. Here’s Something New’s God Roll in Destiny 2.

Hand cannons have been awful in PvE for quite some time in Destiny 2. But just in time for the Solstice event, they’ve got a huge buff. And that really benefits Something New, the Aggressive Frame Stasis Hand Cannon, which is making its grand return for the event.

What’s important to note about Something New is that it benefits team play instead of solo play. That’s because of its Origin Trait, Dream Work. Dream Work causes assists or assisted kills to refill 66% of the magazine, which is fantastic for the hand cannon’s slow reload.

That being said, here’s the best roll for it in 2023:

• Basic Barrel → Corkscrew Rifling. Recoil +2, Handling +10.
• Basic Magazine → Ricochet Rounds. Range +5, Stability +10.

The best combinations for the final two columns are:

Wellspring and Demolitionist. Together, these traits have fantastic synergy. When combined, you can get 18% Grenade Ability Energy and 8% ability energy, split equally amongst all uncharged abilities. Your increased grenade regeneration will also mean that you’ll trigger Demolitionist second ability. When you use your grenade ability, Demolitionist will automatically refill your magazine. This is by far the best combination of traits that offers utility for all subclasses.

But if you enjoy Stasis, another good option is Feeding Frenzy / Stats for All with Headstone. By shattering the Headstone Stasis crystals, you’ll trigger either Feeding Frenzy or Stats for All frequently.
