Slay the Spire 2 Early Access Pricing, Platforms, and Launch Details
Caw, Caw!
Slay the Spire 2 is launching into early access in just a few days, and Mega Crit has revealed several details for their highly anticipated sequel. Here is everything you need to know about Slay the Spire 2’s pricing, platforms, achievements support, and some in-game features!
Slay the Spire 2 Early Access Pricing
Slay the Spire 2 will be priced at $24.99 at launch during the early access period, with support for regional pricing as well. This was confirmed during their AMA on Reddit:

According to their FAQ on Steam, the price will increase after Slay the Spire 2 comes out of early access with its 1.0 release. There is no word on a launch discount, but I’m expecting 10%, which seems to be normal for a lot of early access releases.
Like other early access releases, you can’t pre-order Slay the Spire 2 but you can add it to your wishlist on Steam.
Slay the Spire 2 Early Access Platforms
Slay the Spire 2 is launching on PC through Steam and will be available on macOS and Linux as well.
- macOS required OS version (Minimum): macOS 11.0 (Big Sur)
- Linux required OS version (Minimum): Ubuntu 20.04 LTS / SteamOS 3.0
Since this is an early access release, it’s not coming to consoles just yet. I expect those to be prioritized after Slay the Spire 2 launches into its 1.0 version. I’m sure it will eventually make its way to mobile as well, since the original is really popular on that too.
Slay the Spire 2 Early Access Achievements Support
Achievements for Slay the Spire 2 will be disabled during early access because the amount of content planned for the full release isn’t currently known.

This makes sense because it would be pretty messy for the developers to modify achievements down the line.
Does Slay the Spire Have Matchmaking?
No, there is no matchmaking in Slay the Spire 2, and grouping is done through Steam friend invites. If you’re looking for people to play with, I recommend checking out the Discord or subreddit.
Slay the Spire 2 In-Game Communication
The developers confirmed in the AMA that if you’re playing the title in co-op, you will be able to use pinging (and potentially emotes) for communication. There is no voice-chat, however, and you’ll need to use something else for that.

You can read the full AMA here.
Slay the Spire 2 Engine
Slay the Spire 2 is being developed on Godot, unlike Unity, which was used for the first title.
Slay the Spire 2 Release Date
Slay the Spire 2 is launching into early access on Steam on March 5, 2026. Check out the release date trailer below:
The original Slay the Spire was in early access for a while, and I expect the sequel to remain in that state for a similar period. Yes, it’s launching in a far more polished and complete state, but balancing through feedback was a key part of the original title’s development.
