Players will find the prisoner named Ilora towards the beginning of Avowed within the first mission. Upon entering the fort you will find a passageway blocked by bramble and her cell will be in the hallway to the left of the entryway.

Players can choose to talk to or ignore her completely. Ilora will be very dismissive of the player’s facial features caused by the Godlike powers but currently has a boat on the island. Meanwhile, companion Garryck will tell players that the smuggler should not be trusted and freed. Despite the dialog options, players can choose to free her or leave her be.

The key to free Ilora is in the Warden’s room, which is locked and must be opened from the other side. Thankfully, there are some boxes that can be climbed opposite her cell. After clearing the gap, you will be above the Warden’s room. Break the wooden floor with any physical weapon attack and jump down into the room.

Inside the Warden’s room, you’ll find an Interrogation Log on the table that explains Ilora’s actions in better detail, a chest to loot, and the key hanging next to the exit door. The key can also be used on the empty cell next to Ilora’s, which contains a pair of Deerskin Gloves after crouching through the hole in the wall.

Set her free, and Ilora will become a companion for the rest of the mission. She uses a pistol that can be helpful against the Steadman Ralke fight. However, she will leave the party once players reach Paradis via her ship.

Choosing Not to Free Prisoner Ilora in Avowed

Ignoring Ilora will not mean much until players reach the Steadman Ralke fight. She will appear before the fight, having lockpicked the cell door, and will fight the player alongside Steadman Ralke.

Players can get a Common Pistol by defeating her in battle and looting the body. It is not a great reward, since players will find the same weapon multiple times and better weapons are available upon reaching the mainland. Her ship is still available after her death to continue the game’s story.
