Yes, Reddit is down for all users across the globe. Reddit has confirmed this on all its social media platforms and on its status page. As of now, they are working on the issue with haste but have not confirmed the amount of downtime users will experience.

  • Server Connection (Logged report 13%)

All users have been receiving the message “Something went wrong. Just don’t panic”, while waiting for content to load. The latest update confirms that the issue has been sorted out for most Reddit users, and they will continue to closely monitor the situation.

Reason for Reddit Downtime

The reason confirmed for the downtime is due to some of the subreddit communities going dark, which is being referred to as the “blackout.”. These subreddit communities are protesting against Reddit’s new third-party app changes made in recent times. 

It is believed that June 11 and 12 are the dates on which many subreddits will go dark, if not all. Going dark means these Reddit communities have set themselves as private. This change to private, or blackout period, is set to last for 24–48 hours, or even longer.
