Red Dead Redemption 2 Cougar Location Guide

Yeah, we know you want to hunt down bears in Red Dead Redemption 2. However, they’re not the only kind of pelt that you’re going to need to obtain if you want to ensure that you’re grinding out some of the rarer items in the game. Crafting takes work! You’re going to need to get a Perfect Cougar Pelt from a Cougar if you want to craft the Legend of the East Satchel, which is a great bag that will increase your inventory for pretty much all items to 99.

To get your hands on this Perfect Cougar Pelt, well, you’ll have to hunt a cougar. These animals are no joke, and they’re pretty darn big. If you thought taking down a bear was hard, well, we’ve got news for you. These ones aren’t easy either, and they prey on pretty much every other animal that you’ll have had to have killed to get pelts for other bags.

To find these elusive beasts, you want to head for Benedict Point. It’s only a hop, skip and a throw south of Tumbleweed. You’ll be confronted by endless plains, and it should be easy to scout for one of these russet beasts roaming around. You can also find cougars by Owanjila Lake in the Black Bone Forest as an alternative. Just make sure that you take one down with a ranged weapon for that Perfect Pelt, and you’ll be well on your way to getting that Legend of the East Satchel thanks to our Red Dead Redemption 2 Cougar location guide.
