Pokemon Scarlet & Violet: All Pokemon That Give Speed EVs and Where to Train

Where is the Best Place to EV Train Speed in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

The best place to EV train Speed in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is within Area Zero, because all four Pokemon that give 3 Speed EVs can be found there. Granted, one of them (Iron Bundle) is exclusive to Violet, but the other three can be found in either game.

The Pokemon that give 3 Speed EVs (11 if your Pokemon is holding a Power Anklet item) in Area Zero are:

• Jumpluff
• Talonflame
• Raichu
• Iron Bundle (Violet exclusive)

Enter the Zero Gate and head to Research Station No. 1 to find Jumpluff right away. Raichu (and Iron Bundle in Violet) become more common closer to Research Station No. 3.

If you’re looking to train for a Speed EV spread besides 252, you’ll want to focus on knocking out some Pokemon that give 2 (10 if your Pokemon is holding a Power Anklet) Speed EVs. Such Pokemon that appear in Area Zero include:

• Pawmo
• Kantonian Dugtrio
• Espathra
• Drakloak

Pawmo can appear both outside and inside caves in Area Zero, while the other Pokemon listed above are most commonly found inside caves, especially the cave with Research Station No. 4 inside.

You may also come across the following Pokemon in Area Zero, typically alongside their evolved counterparts. They give 1 Speed EV each (or 9 if your Pokemon is holding a Power Anklet):

• Dreepy
• Pawmi

Where to Get the Power Anklet Item (and What it Does)

You can buy the Power Anklet item from any of the Delibird Presents stores across Paldea, including Mesagoza, Levincia, and Cascarrafa. There are three Delibird Presents in Mesagoza. Each Power Anklet costs 10,000 Poke Dollars.

The Power Anklet increases the Speed EVs a Pokemon earns every time it defeats a Pokemon (even those that don’t normally give Speed EVs!) by 8. It’s highly recommended to equip this item onto all of your Pokemon that you want to EV train in Speed to speed up the process, unless you intend to give a certain Pokemon only 4 Speed EVs.

All Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet That Give Speed EVs

Have you strayed a bit far from your EV training spot and are starting to see different Pokemon? Or do you see an outbreak and want to know if you can EV train off it? Use Ctrl/Cmd + F to see if they give Speed EVs. If the Pokemon isn’t on this list, check if it gives Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, or HP EVs instead. If it doesn’t appear on any of these lists, that means it gives more than one stat in EVs and generally isn’t ideal for EV training with.

The following tables do not include Pokemon that give EVs of multiple stats, nor do they include Pokemon that give Speed EVs but aren’t found in the wild, such as Scarlet and Violet’s starter Pokemon and legendary Pokemon. Pokemon that appear only as special Tera Type Pokemon in the wild also aren’t listed, since you can’t OHKO them and are thus not practical for EV training.
