Pokemon Scarlet & Violet: All Pokemon That Give Special Attack EVs and Where to Train

If you’re EV training your Pokemon in Special Attack, use the following lists to determine which Pokemon to defeat to gain Special Attack EVs in Scarlet and Violet.

Where is the Best Place to EV Train Special Attack in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

The best place to EV train your Pokemon in Special Attack in Scarlet and Violet is in the flower fields south of the Team Star Fairy Crew’s Base. You can reach this location by either flying to the North Province (Area Three) Pokemon Center and following the river north, or by flying to the North Province (Area Three) Lighthouse and making your way south through the Team Star base.

Not every Pokemon you find here will give Special Attack EVs when defeated, but the commonly found Golduck and Sunflora will. Both of these Pokemon give 2 Special Attack EVs, or 10 if your Pokemon is holding a Power Lens item.

There are a few sandwich recipes that activate Encounter Power: Grass Level 2 and will increase the number of Sunflora that appear here. The best one to use, which consumes the smallest number of ingredients, is the Great Klawf Claw Sandwich. The Great Klawf Claw Sandwich ingredients are:

• Klawf Stick (1)
• Tomato (1)
• Lettuce (1)
• Salt (1)
• Olive Oil (1)
• Wasabi (1)

Unfortunately, there are no default recipes that result in Encounter Power: Water Level 2, and all the creative mode recipes that make it use an absurd number of ingredients (such as six servings of rice—good luck stacking that). Thankfully, Golduck is generally really common without the need for an Encounter Power.

Where to Get the Power Lens Item (and What it Does)

You can buy the Power Lens item from any of the Delibird Presents stores across Paldea, including three in Mesagoza, one in Levincia, and one in Cascarrafa. Each Power Lens costs 10,000 Poke Dollars.

The Power Lens increases the Special Attack EVs a Pokemon gets by 8, even if the Pokemon it defeated doesn’t give Special Attack EVs. It’s highly recommended to equip this item onto all of your Pokemon that you want to EV train in Special Attack to speed up the process, unless you intend to give a certain Pokemon only 4 Special Attack EVs.

All Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet That Give Special Attack EVs

Have you strayed a bit far from your EV training spot and are starting to see different Pokemon? Or do you see an outbreak and want to know if you can EV train off it? Use Ctrl/Cmd + F to see if they give Special Attack EVs. If the Pokemon isn’t on this list, check if it gives Attack, Defense, Special Defense, Speed, or HP EVs instead. If it doesn’t appear on any of these lists, that means it gives more than one stat in EVs and generally isn’t ideal for EV training with.

The following tables do not include Pokemon that give EVs of multiple stats, nor do they include Pokemon that give Special Attack EVs but aren’t found in the wild, such as Scarlet and Violet’s starter Pokemon and legendary Pokemon. Pokemon that appear only as special Tera Type Pokemon in the wild also aren’t listed, since you can’t OHKO them and are thus not practical for EV training.
