Pokemon Go Vivillon Regions Guide (2023)

Lots of pretty butterflies

Scatterbug and Vivillon

Catching them all sometimes means also catching their alternate versions. And I’m not saying alternate as in Shiny Pokemon, as many creatures have different forms or appearances aside from shininess. Vivillon is a good example of these as he has multiple different possible patterns on his wings, something that was well transitioned to Pokemon Go.

All Vivillon patterns are set to a specific world region, and to find each of them, you need to exchange gifts with other players with their own regions’ postcards attached to them. Pinning enough postcards will net you an encounter with a Scatterbug, which will later evolve into that pattern.

Many subreddits and groups are dedicated to it, so it should be no problem. And to help you further with that, here’s every Vivillon pattern and its specific region.

There’s a total of 18 different patterns, but luckily they’re not limited to 18 regions only. Most of them can be found in multiple locations, but some remain exclusive to certain regions. Some regions will even get you multiple patterns. Gotta make those friends in those faraway places.

Now it’s all up to you to catch them. Trading Gifts might take a while, and getting the pattern Medals gets harder as you find more and more Scatterbugs, but eventually, you’ll be done with it. Good luck, trainer!
