Pokemon GO - Doduo

Pokemon GO Spotlight Hour June 27th, 2023, Featuring Doduo.

Two heads are better than one.

Another week, another Spotlight Hour in Pokemon GO. This week our favourite double-headed bird is back! It’s Doduo, and it is ready to be featured in the upcoming Pokemon GO Spotlight Hour. The duel Normal Flying type Pokemon, originally introduced in Kanto is ready to take the stage on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, from 6:00 PM local time to 7:00 PM local time. Let’s stop flapping our nonexistent wings and find out the most important question of them all – can Doduo be shiny during the upcoming Pokemon GO Spotlight Hour?

Can Doduo Be Shiny in Pokemon GO?

It is the question on everyone’s lips every time a new Pokemon is announced for Spotlight Hour. Can the featured Pokemon be shiny? At first, it seemed like there was a heavy focus on shiny Pokemon but over time more or more Pokemon who have yet to have their shiny forms released have their preemptive time in the spotlight.

So, with that said, can Doduo be shiny in Pokemon GO? Absolutely! All 151 Pokemon from the Kanto region have their shiny variant in the game. An easy way to know whether or not a Pokemon can be shiny in Pokemon GO is to remember whether or not there has been a special event based on the region in which that Pokemon originates from. So far, Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn have been featured.

So, that’s it! Get out there and encounter as many Doduo as you can for a chance at a shiny encounter. It definitely helps your encounter chances to be near a lured Pokestop and have an incense going for the duration of the event. I’ve been lucky playing at home too, though! So, good luck no matter how you play the game!
